National Signing Day, Syracuse Recruiting: Defensive End Josh Manley Signs the Dotted Line

via blogs.ajc.com

The Georgia pipeline runs deeper and deeper every year for Doug Marrone and company. The Orange grabbed a few players from the peach state, including vaunted defensive end Josh Manley from the Atlanta suburb of Alpharetta.

Rivals says...three stars for the big defensive lineman.

Scout says...only two stars. They rate him as the number 108 defensive tackle in the land.

ESPN says...

three stars and a grade of 78. They rank him number 81 out of all defensive ends, the number 71 Georgia prospect, and the 311th best prospect in his region.

Who's Crying: Boston College, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Mississippi State, Missouri, NC State, Purdue, UCF, Virginia, and Wake Forest.

Money Quote: "The highlight of my visit was the connection that other recruits and me made with the players that were already there. Within the first 20-30 minutes of meeting everyone, there was no tension between anyone … it was like family right off the bat, without any hesitation."

Fun Fact: Josh is the nephew of former NFL DE "the Minister Secretary of Defense", Dexter Manley.

Wasn’t Reggie White the “Minister of Defense”?

Yes

Reggie White was “the Minister of Defense.” Dexter Manley was “the Secretary of Defense.”
