Ryan Nassib on Philly's 97.5 Fanatic Radio today

A friend-o of mine in Philly made me aware Ryan Nassib is on sports talk radio there this afternoon. As a local boy, that's not without reason. But I wanted to hear what Nassib had to say, especially since he was talking "out of market" and sometimes that makes em more honest.

304pm intro to Ryan Nassib

Host goes over his past and how he rewrote so many Syracuse records. Nassib is at the student athlete dinner tonight for his Scholar Athlete award. Matt Barley is there too.

He was asked whos the best - him or Barkley?

Nassib says Barkley is a qreat player, finds it funny they are together again. Cant seem to get away from each other. Nassib totally dodged the right answer, which is "Me", went with the political answer.

The host went over McNabbs numbers, how Nassib broke his yardage numbers and completion numbers, only didn't beat him in touchdowns overall.

Host asks about Pinstripe bowl. competing against Geno.

Nassib says its gonna be a great game. Jokes it would have been nice to play at the Linc again.. Says he is keyed in more to the defense than Geno Smith obviously.

Asked if hes kept up with the Eagles recent troubles

Ryan says hes a huge Eagles fan. Not as aware as if he was back home with the situation at quarterback,.

Host states Howie Roseman from Eagles was there at Temple game, says they were "lurking", but Nasssib sys no convos with Eagles or scouts as of yet, said he had no idea they were there at the game until after.

Nassib states he would love to play for the Eagles, has watched them since he was a kid. Loved playing on the Linc against Temple.

Here are the targeted questions and responses:

Why Malvern Prep?

Says his Dad went to there, his uncle went there, so he was a legacy. Growing up he always knew he was going there. Says they had great coaches.

Where are the scouts telling you you will go at the draft?

Talking about Geno and Barkley being potential first rounders. Nassib says he hasn't spoken with any scouts, but some other people who have about him, he has heard mixed things, says combine and all star games will determine it more. Hopes to have good tryouts to get into the first round

Host asks how he ended up in Syracuse?

Nassib says he was recruited by UConn and Temple, but Syracuse was the only one that offered him.

Asked about getting demoted when Greg Paulus Came onboard in 2009

Says he had no intention to leave - "no one else wanted me" and states he learned and grew from watching Paulus. Says it really got him ready to play at the next level having Marrone and Paulus take the pressure off of him.

Interesting Tidbits.
