So what made the guy considered the best power-forward in the class chose Cuse? That familiar sense of home and family that we hear so many recruits talk about.

In what's been a pretty big good couple weeks for Syracuse Orange basketball recruiting, Monday brought the biggest news of all when five-star Class of 2014 recruit Chris McCullough verbally-committed to play for the Orange.

So what made the guy considered the best power-forward in the class chose Cuse? That familiar sense of home and family that we hear so many recruits talk about.

"When I was on their campus, I felt I was at home already,'' McCullough said Monday. "They showed me the most love. I felt like I fit in there.''

"I talked to Ron [Patterson],'' McCullough said. "I asked him if he liked it. If he saw us both fitting in there. He said we'd both fit in good. We're both athletic players.''

McCullough committed after talking it our with Jim Boeheim over the phone. It was interesting to see this weird reaction out of some SU fans yesterday, bemoaning Boeheim's role in recruiting. That's it's not him, it's the assistants. While it's probably true that Hopkins, Autry and McNamara do all the heavy lifting, never underestimate Jim Boeheim's role as The Closer in these negotiations.

Isaiah Whitehead, you're up next, perhaps?
