Charles LeClaire-US PRESSWIRE
The regular-season finale against the Temple Owls, which could decide whether or not SU goes bowling, will begin at 11:00 a.m. EST.
And you complain when the Syracuse Orange playing noon games?
Syracuse will play it's final Big East football game so early that some of you won't feel right drinking during kickoff (well, maybe one of two of you). The regular-season finale against the Temple Owls, which could decide whether or not SU goes bowling, will begin at 11:00 a.m. EST.
Before you complain too loudly, remember that this means I have to be awake and in a bar by 8:00 a.m. my time in order to watch this Clash of the Mediocritans.
The early start is already a pain in the ass for the Orange, who will be on the road. That pain in the ass is compounded by the fact that they play a night road game the Saturday before.
The early start the day after Thanksgiving will offer a challenge for the Orange, who play Saturday night at Missouri (7 p.m., ESPNU).
SU head coach Doug Marrone said the team basically will miss a day of preparation for the Temple game because of the timing.
Temple is in the middle of a free-fall. After an impressive 3-2 start, they've lost four-straight. Because they are only playing an 11 game schedule this season, they are already out of bowl contention. They play Army this week.
