Syracuse Orange injury updates have been good news/bad news discussions all season long. It seems like just as someone returns from an Upper Body Injury, someone else sits out due to a Lower Body Injury. Or vice versa.
The bad news this week? Starting corner Brandon Reddish will likely miss his second-straight game due to a Dreaded Lower Body Injury.
Sophomore Brandon Reddish is "day-to-day," according to SU head coach Doug Marrone, but it looks more like he won’t participate in Friday’s game so he’ll be ready for the rest of the Big East Conference season. "It’s day-to-day, but it’s probably a very small percentage that Brandon will play."
Keon Lyn and Ri’Shard Anderson will once again be your starters with freshmen Julian Whigham and Wayne Morgan (who have "done a nice job") backing them up.
On the good news front, we all know that All-World offensive tackle Justin Pugh will be back in the line-up. Pugh is ready to go, as you might imagine:
"I’ve been waiting six months for this," Pugh said. "I’m just ready to get out there and get playing."
Pugh's return shifts Sean Hickey back to the right side in place of Not-So-Sweet Lou Alexander while Rob Trudo seems to have supplanted Ivan Foy as the starting right guard.
Also returning is WR Adrian Flemming, who is returning from a sprained ankle Lower Body Injury.
Finally, Steve Rene is also back on the field and is once again fielding kicks in practice. Expect to see him returning punts and on kickoff returns again, whether you like it or not.
