Mark Konezny-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire
While you might not be rooting for bragging rights this Friday, there's a whole lot of guys on the field playing for them.
While the Syracuse Orange and Pittsburgh Panthers may not motivate each fanbase to want to destroy the other, the many connections between the players on both squads certainly makes the game important for them (SU Roster/Pitt Roster).
Syracuse is full of Pennsylvania products, thirteen to be exact. They include Ryan Nassib, Ryan Lichtenstein, Dan Vaughan, Dontez Ford and Jarrod West. They all also share a high school with at least one guy on the Pitt roster. In some cases, since we're talking PA schools, they know multiple guys on the team.
We know Jarrod West and Pitt's Anthony Gonzalez go way back from their underage drinking arrest last year.
Milford Academy is well represented here. Syracuse features Ashton Broyld, Dyshawn Davis, Myles Davis and Jeremiah Kobena while Pitt is home to Mark Giubilato, Khaynin Mosley-Smith, Jevonte Pitts and Todd Thomas.
Brooklyn is a borough divided for this game. Four Brooklynites line up for the Orange (Wayne Morgan, Brandon Reddish, Ivan Foy & Steve Rene) while Zenel Demhasaj and Jason Hendricks rep Brooklyn in PA.
Remember, while you might not be rooting for bragging rights this Friday, there's a whole lot of guys on the field playing for them.
