The Syracuse football team will not shelve its "tank" goal-line/short-yardage formation when it faces South Florida at 7 p.m. Saturday at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa even though an integral element of the formation, sophomore tailback Adonis Ameen-Moore, will be out with a lower-body injury. Look for the regular tailback tandem of Jerome Smith and Prince-Tyson Gulley to be called on to fill the breach until Ameen-Moore returns.

Preston Shumpert, the former Syracuse University basketball player, is recovering from surgery to repair a ruptured tendon in the pinkie finger on his right hand. Shumpert suffered the injury while playing in Turkey. He underwent surgery in Syracuse in September.
