It was just two seasons ago that Syracuse beat Kansas State in the Pinstripe Bowl, the third time the two schools have faced off in the post-season in the last fifteen years. How is it that KSU has since managed to build a Top-5 team, while Syracuse is still struggling to get going? It's not like K-State was a powerhouse beforehand (even Syracuse has managed a couple of stints in the top 25 in that time). But why have they managed to force themselves into the National Championship conversation when Syracuse still has a hard time winning in the Big East? Is this season just a flash in the pan for them, or is there something fundamentally that KSU has built that Syracuse lacks?
