You might not be too sure about the Syracuse Orange even completing the Quest For Beef this season but Syracuse wide receiver Marcus Sales is still of the mind that the Orange are a kay player in the Quest For Sugar. Or Oranges. Or Fiestas. Whatever, so long as it's a BCS Bowl.
"We’re real close...We can definitely see the light at the end of the tunnel. We just have to come out and put four quarters together. We can’t just play for two quarters."
"I feel we’re letting each other down, not winning games. We don’t try to not win games. All 11 guys on the field have to execute at the same time. I’ve been playing this game my whole life, since I was 4 or 5. Basically I’m just going out there to try to win. I want to win. I want to go to a BCS bowl game.
Sales also some kind words for his embattled head coach:
"Coach Marrone is a great coach. I mean, we can’t ask for a better coach. With the coaching staff we have right now, we can’t ask for better coaches. These guys work hard. They have great game plans each week. It’s up to us to execute them."
Despite the way the sky seems to be falling for Syracuse this season, Marcus' dream isn't dead yet. SU is 0-0 in Big East play. All you need to do is win seven games and BCS Bowl, here we come.
Now go do it.
