The Orange will take on their current-Big East rival and soon-to-be ACC rival, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, in the 2013 Big City Classic, taking place April 27, 2013 at MetLife Stadium.
Ah, it'll be good to get back home.
A lacrosse "Classic" is happening and you know what that means. The Syracuse Orange lacrosse team is involved.
Even though it's a special event, it will still count as a Big East Conference game.
Unlike most years, the Big City Classic is now a two-game affair. It's always been a three-gamer up until now. Gone is the first game of the day, which usually pits a one or two local lower-profile squads against one another. The event will kick off at 4:00 p.m. with the Princeton Tigers taking on the Cornell Big Red before the Orange and Irish square off around 6:30 p.m.
Syracuse has participated in the Big City Classic every year since it started in 2009. They've lost to Princeton, 12-8. They got revenge on the Tigers with a 13-4 lashing in 2010. In 2011, they took on the Duke Blue Devils and won 13-11 but the Devils got revenge this past season with a 12-10 win.
Along with the Big City Classic is the Face-Off Classic on March 23rd in Baltimore, which somehow will not include the Orange. It will feature Colgate vs. Navy and Virginia vs. Johns Hopkins.
Tickets for the 2013 editions of the Konica Minolta Face-Off Classic and the Konica Minolta Big City Classic will go on sale Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. EST. All seating locations at M&T Bank Stadium and MetLife Stadium will be reserved for these events. Fans are urged to make their plans early to be part of the action by securing the best seats.
Ticket prices for the 2013 Konica Minolta Face-Off Classic are: $35 for Club Level seats, $22 for Lower Level reserved seats, $18 for groups of 10 or more, and $12 for groups of 100 or more. Parking can also be purchased in advance for $15.
Keep an eye on College Crosse for more event new and previews.
