Syracuse Daily Links - Final Prep For Providence

Syracuse basketball links: Providence aims for another upset of a top-ranked team | syracuse.com
"I think Providence is just outmanned. I said Syracuse has 10 guys playing double-digit minutes; they've also got 10 guys probably better than anybody on Providence's roster. ... Road games in the Big East, or any major conference, can be difficult, and so you've always got to be careful predicting blowouts by a road team. But, again, we're talking about two different level basketball teams right now."

What To / Where To: Providence vs. Syracuse Game Preview | Friarblog - Providence Friars Basketball
The last time a number one team came to the Dunkin’ Donuts Center, the senior-laden Friars pulled off a great upset of Pittsburgh in no doubt the best moment of the Keno Davis era (it was all downhill from there). Tonight, a much more talented and deep Syracuse team visits the Dunk as the nations top college basketball squadron. With the state the Friars are currently in, it’s just a horrible match up on many levels. Ed Cooley is going to need amazing production from his guards if there is going to be any shot at an incredible upset.

Orange::44: Syracuse - Providence Preview
Syracuse is still #1 in the country. They are #1 still after handling their two Big East opponents so far. And for some reason there is tons of "trap game" talk for tonight. Is the 9:00pm start fooling everyone?

Cody Zeller, Indiana among the biggest surprises in college basketball this season - Luke Winn - SI.com
The elite tier of title contenders consists of four teams: Kentucky, Ohio State, North Carolina and Syracuse. And probably in that order, even though the Orange are No. 1 in the polls, and the only one of the four that's undefeated.

Syracuse University Athletics - '60 Cotton Bowl Rated As One Of The Best
The 1960 Cotton Bowl, which featured a dominating performance from Ernie Davis in a 23-14 win against Texas, is ranked No. 13 by the Bleacher Report in its 50 Greatest College Football National Championship Games of All Time.

Mike's Mailbox: Is Syracuse basketball peaking too soon? | syracuse.com
I don’t believe in losing in order to get better. I believe in teams that can handle winning. And I believe in teams that get better throughout the season.

Mini-Pro Update (Rautins Edition) - Cuse Country
Terrence Roberts suffered some type of injury last week and was consequently waived by the NBADL’s LA D-Fenders on the 28th, though they retain his rights should they wish to re-sign him when he gets well again.

Why The Bowl Championship Series Is The Holy Roman Empire Of Sport : NPR
If the BCS ran the World Cup, there would be no World Cup. Instead, there would just be a mind-numbing plethora of meaningless soccer matches played between disparate countries, like Peru vs. Slovenia, scheduled at random neutral sites like Sri Lanka.

How The BCS Killed The Orange Bowl - SBNation.com
The result is a disaster, both on the field and in terms of television ratings. In the 13 seasons since the formation of the BCS, the Orange Bowl has finished with either the worst or second-worst TV ratings in the 11 years it didn't host the BCS title game. Only twice, which turned out to be two overtime games, have the ratings crested into double digits.

How will Providence hold up when it faces off against the top-ranked Syracuse Orange at the Dunkin' Donuts Center on Wednesday night. CBSSports.com college basketball columnist Gary Parrish joins Lauren Shehadi to preview the matchup.

Kentucky, Ohio State, North Carolina and Syracuse.

So by my count Luke Winn has us ranked fourth in the only thing that actually matters, a national championship.

I have never heard more qualifications in my life than I did in that Gary Parrish segment.

If SU loses a game

ESPN should just put a big “TOLD YA SO” as their banner over the college bball section so they can all gloat as they drop us from #1 to #12
