NBA Orange (Dec. 25-Dec. 31)
This NBA season almost didn't happen, but now that they've taken the court it's a little dissapointing how the former Syracuse guys are doing after 7 days this season. As we know Andy Rautins was a trade casualty & is now overseas, Etan Thomas got more face-time standing behind Derek Fisher during all the press conferences than he did in his entire NBA career yet no one has signed the former block king (all hail Fab Melo).
- Carmelo Anthony - New York Knicks
- Jonny Flynn - Houston Rockets
- Donté Greene - Sacramento Kings
- Wesley Johnson - Minnesota Timberwolves
- Hakim Warrick - Phoenix Suns
---
So far this season, Carmelo Anthony has had the most success, he's currently #6 in the league in scoring with 25.0 ppg to go along with 3.5 assists/game & 6 rebounds/game in 34.5 minutes/game. He started the season on the right note Sunday (Christmas day) with 37 points to beat Boston.
---
Jonny Flynn has played in 2 game out of 4 for the Rockets (2-2) including Thursay (12/29) when he had 2 assists & 2 turnovers in 8:06 vs. San Antonio. [Flynn now wears #9] Friday (12/30) Flynn played 19:54 minutes scoring 8 pts (3/7 FGs, 1/4 3PTs, 1/2 FTs), 4 assists, 2 turnovers & 1 rebound.
---
Before Saturday's (12/31) 12 minute-10 point outburst (3/7 FGs, 2/4 3PTs, 2/4 FTs) vs. New York, Donté Greene had only got into 2 other games. He played just 30 seconds vs, LA Lakers on Monday (12/26), DNP (Coach's Decision) vs. Portland Tuesday (12/27) & on Thursday (12/29) just 25 seconds vs. Chicago but somehow managed to score 2 points & he even got his picture taken (#20):
---
Wes Johnson has started all 3 games for the T-wolves (0-3) but he's averaging just over 24 min, 6.3 pts, 2.3 rebounds & 1.3 assists. Here he is throwing down a dunk against Milwaukee on Tuesday (12/27).
---
Despite not playing in the season opener Monday (12/26) vs. New Orleans, Hak has gotten significant playing time for the Suns (1-3). In the 3 games played Warrick's averaging 27.0 min, 15.7 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 1.3 assists & 0.7 blocks.
---
On a side note, Paul Harris (Maine Red Claws) & Eric Devendorf (Idaho Stampede) continue to play well in the NBA Development League
Hopefully 2012 bring better success for the Orange in the NBA.
Happy New Year!
