What's up with Dion?
Just wondering if anyone has any information on what's going on with Dion. Obviously, I understand that some might say he just had a bad couple of games and that's that.
I guess I'm a bit nervous because he seemed to be reverting to 'old' Dion, aka Uncle Punky. Watching Boeheim lay into him on TV last night made me cringe as we all know how poorly he responded to this type of coaching last year. It's possible he's matured and will take the criticism/coaching in stride and resolve to come out better next game. It's also possible that he still susceptible to letting his own ego take charge and not hear the critique as a challenge. His body language and facial expressions seemed to me like the latter.
I hope I'm reading to much into this, but I was a bit surprised (and maybe a little relieved) that there were no articles today about his play and/or attitude.
Did anyone else wonder about this, or am I being crazy?

Slight overreaction
Dion has had two poor games no doubt, but the ND game I think he was really pressing trying to get the team back in it and those were errors of effort not me first play. Last night was a case where he took two bad shots, got a charge, Boeheim took him out to yell at him (not the first time he’s done that this year) and Jardine and Triche got hot at the same time so there was no reason to put him back in. If this continues into the next 3 or 4 games then there’s an issue, but right now I don’t think there’s anything there.
Boeheim also laid into Joseph at ND for a long stretch and Fab Melo for not boxing out against Pitt. I’m not concerned….yet.
That's the thing though
You’ve got to learn from the constructive criticism. Dion has been playing selfishly for several games now. The only difference is that the last two have not resulted in much offensively. He’s got to get back to dishing the ball on drives sometimes</>. Just keep the D honest.

overreaction
I understand it’s only been two games which is why I prefaced the post stating that. It is not the fact that he hasn’t played well that is the cause for concern. Rather, it seems to be his body language and his attitude on the court. While JAB does yell at the other guys, they don’t have a history of telling the coach to *&^% off or of getting suspended. They also didn’t seem to display the same negative reaction to the critique.
Kind of looks to me like Dion Devendorf -
At times it works, at times he seems to be a cancer -
Dion gets a lot of his offense from his defense
When teams play the burn offense, he doesn’t force as many turnovers and we don’t get out in transition as much, which is where Dion excels.
Don’t worry about Dion, he’ll be fine.
Thumb?
Could his thumb be more of an issue than orginally thought and he’s trying to force things too much?
Wouldn't think so
I’m pretty sure the injury was on the non-shooting hand
