What is it about us that doesn't fire up the ESPN bobble-heads and sports writers of the nation? Are we too deep for them to comprehend? Do they hate that we don't have 1 standout star night after night that they can point to and say "He's the reason they win?" Do they just not care this early in the season? Or has the NBA finally taking off just distracted them?
To me, the subtext I keep reading in article after article is that the Cuse still doesn't belong up here. Its almost like the mountain lowered itself just so they could be on top, not like the other teams that have to climb it all the way.
I dont know, but Cuse is definitely not getting the love from the writers and talking heads of the world. Its like we don't fit into their mold, this wasn't supposed to be. We were intended to drop out of the top 25 by the time conference play started - Im not sure.. Is it because of Seton Hall and DePaul, two teams associated with suckitude in the Big East, have been our first two conference wins?
Maybe this is just different, and we are seeing it for the first time, #1 this early in the season for this long. We've never really been here before. Is this what UNC, Kentucky, Duke and Kansas feel like at this time of the year in years past when they hold this spot?
With all our "off the court" troubles they like to speak about, were we expected to fold up and die, and they find it reprehensible that we dont?
Am I the only one here?
