Bernie Fine Allegations: Jim Boeheim Gets Lawyered Up
Gloria Allred may have already moved on to her next case but the rest of us remember that there's a defamation lawsuit against Jim Boeheim that needs dealing with.
And Syracuse University alumnus C. James Zeszutek is the one dealing with it.
Zeszutek, a managing partner at the law firm of Dinsmore & Shohl in Pittsburgh, will be Boeheim's primary lawyer in the lawsuit filed by Bobby Davis and Mike Lang, who accused former associate men's basketball coach Bernie Fine of molesting them years ago, according to the article.
Zeszutek is the most Syracuse-y person possible for the job. He graduated from SU in 1972 where he was on the wrestling team, received a SU law degree in 1975 and a SU master's degree in public administration in 1976. He was appointed to Syracuse's department of intercollegiate athletics' athletic advisory board in 2002, sits on the athletic department's Board of Directors and was elected to the Board of Advisors at SU's College of Law in 2010.
He also has experience defending college coaches, having dealt with the Committee on Infractions against allegations involving violations of NCAA Bylaw, one time defending Syracuse University.

It's funny
what can happen in a month. This has completely slipped my consciousness.
Without Gerry McNamara we wouldn't have won 10 f-- games, not 10
I love how this whole thing has disapeared
Its not part of the conversation in any mention of Syracuse, and Im glad for it.
Did you know Scoop and Dion are cousins?
and from Philly?

I am curious what path it takes
court or settlement, or if it even gets that far. I have a feeling a judge is going to throw out the lawsuit since its pretty baseless, without merit, and completely hypocritical.
I imagine it would take any judge with a brain about 5 minutes to say hrmmmm….so you want to sue him for accusing you of being in it for the money, which is what you are after with this lawsuit. And you get a famous lawyer who is definitely not working pro bono. Ive heard enough?
I still think the best way to flush it out if its a settlement
is to offer a donation to a charity fund of their choosing, and if they dont accept that (which they wont because Allred wouldn’t get paid) let them try to take it to court, which is exactly what Allred doesn’t want.
OK, Im done.
but wouldn't offering a settlement be an admission of guilt?
Oh, look at me! I'm making people happy. I'm the magical man from. Happyland in a gumdrop house on Lollipop Laaane! Oh, by the way, I was being sarcastic.
Eh, youd think so
but these days it seems like its more just hush money to make the problem go away.
nah, usually the settlement specifically indicates that there's no admission of guilt
Shut up brain or I'll stab you with a Q-tip
No, Please don't flush it out by offering a settlement which is
almost an admission of guilt. I agree with stumpycuse. Things are not always what you think. Come on, Bernie has not been proven guilty of anything except an absentee husband. Laurie Fine is actually the key to this case. Are there any Agatha Christie fans out there? Maybe the tape HAS been altered. And maybe the murderer or molester is the good doctor and not the bad guy. Oh crap, is there a doctor in this story? Sorry, too much Agatha Christie for me.
