UConn on 2/11/12
To all the Syracuse area Nunesers and any that might be making the trip. I'm making my seasonal basketball trip up to the Dome and will be joining StrawHatGuy as part of what will hopefully be a record setting crowd. We had great time at the TNIAAM tailgate for the football game against Toledo, so I was hoping we might be able to get together again for pre/post Husky bashing festivities.
StrawHat has an inexplicable fetish for Chuck's, but any suggestions for meetup locations are appreciated, perferrably ones within walking distance of the Dome. Hope to see you all there.

Not going to the game
But might be up for some pregame festivities. Walking distance of the Dome pretty much leaves M Street, so pick from your usual suspects. I’m not a bar guy, so I have no favorites in that respect but am a fan of the Varsity, although I know others aren’t. It’s likely to be packed no matter where up there game day.
If the weather’s nice and you don’t mind walking a bit further (20 min or so), you could always come over to Westcott street. Bar wise, it’s Taps and Metro unless you want beers and pizza at Dorian’s. Alto Cinco has good Mexican food, but it’s tiny and usually packed for eat in.

Is there still an Acropolis Pizza on Westcott
They have the second best pizza I’ve ever had, and I have’t been there since before graduated.
As for the M Street scene, I’m a fan of any place that’s not Chuck’s.

I think you mean Dorian's on Westcott?
Or was there really once an Acropolis there?
Clear eyes, full bologna sandwiches!
Acropolis is on Marshall, Dorians is on Westcott
Seldom were any of our adventures to either while in a sober state.
Phunk’s just confused.
How about Pita Pit? I kid.
Acropolis sounds interesting.
Also, we’ll have a bunch of the ol Craig Nasties around too.
The 'Cuse is in tha house, oh my God oh my God.
Maybe it wasn't on Westcott
I know that, at some point, there were at least 2 Acropoli in Syracuse, the one on M Street and then another. I vaugely remember it being on Westcott, but I’m not 100% certain. It was a long time ago, before I was even a student at SU.
I’m down for Varsity or Acropolis. Pretty much any place that will be open and serving beer at 11AM (or earlier). Oh, and that’s not named Chuck’s

There was an acroplois on wescott. At least from 1987 to 1991
Spent a ton of money there
Yup.
The Acropolis on Westcott closed a while ago, I don’t recall exactly when. There’s a place called Las Delicias there now that serves up what they describe as “authentic Caribbean fare”. Haven’t eaten there yet, but it’s supposed to be decent food.

I was 8 or 9 when I went there
I have family on Garfield Ave, and was visiting them. So it would have been 1990 or so. Glad to hear that I’m not crazy.

Free Bus Tickets to SU-UConn 2/11
I have a limited number of Megabus tickets from NYC to Syracuse the day of the game (leave NYC around 7 am, leave Syracuse around 6pm). I got them free with a promo code, so I am offering them for free to Cuse fans. Let me know if you’re interested.
