BlogPoll Week 2: LSU Is No. 1, Syracuse Receives Votes!

Sometimes I like to think the BlogPoll is the purest form of poll voting when it comes to college football. We're not at stodgy and name recognition-dependent as the Coaches Poll (What's a USF?) and we're not a beholden to keeping things orderly week-to-week like the AP.

So I like to see that Week 2 seems to have taken the real world into account instead of worrying about justifying the bad choices we made in Week 1 (Hi Coaches Poll!).

LSU is your new No. 1, followed closely by Oklahoma and Alabama. Boise State is no. 4 (4TH PLACE!) and Stanford rounds out your top 5.

As for the Big East, or what is the Big East today, West Virginia edges themselves up to No. 20 and South Florida makes their debut at No. 21.

Meanwhile, while I think the BlogPoll does a great job, it also does some insane things as well. Like giving the Syracuse Orange votes. And not just any votes, votes as high as No. 8 in the nation!

Kudos to John Radcliff (No. 8), Cowboys Ride For Free (No. 10), Blatant Homerism (No. 10) and Frogs O'War (No. 16) for putting Syracuse on their ballots and making me feel bad for not doing so (here's my ballot).
