Syracuse vs. Rhode Island: Chandler Jones Among Those Injured, Status Unknown
Sorry to bum you out with the bad news as we get into the Syracuse Orange's upcoming game against Rhode Island but we gotta...
SU head coach Doug Marrone said Jones, along with junior safety Olando Fisher and sophomore cornerback Ri'Shard Anderson, were being evaluated. He did not say what was wrong with Jones, who played throughout Thursday's game and did not appear to be injured afterward during media interviews.
Marrone went on to say that there is no timetable at the moment for all three players and whether or not they'll practice, let alone play against the Rams Saturday.
You might have also noticed that freshman Durell Eskridge was not in uniform last Thursday when the Orange defeated Wake Forest. The issue is apparently something related to his high school transcripts, though Marrone was coy on the details:
"Durell comes from a really unique situation," Marrone said. "He was just caught in red tape. We believe that through the process of the NCAA that eventually he’ll be cleared. He’s not in any jeopardy of having to leave school."
Eskridge was one of the top freshmen in camp this year, so let's hope he's back ASAP.
Since the game will take place the week of 9/11, the team will remember the event in the way you'd expect New York's College Team to.
"This is very personal for our football program," Marrone said. "We're going to discuss that with the team and do something with the team internally. Our coaches will wear 9/11 patches, which we've always worn since I've been here on the week of 9/11."

Not supprised
He was double teamed all game. Surprised he got much done. Even so, he was shoving both of the guys around. It must have opened up some opportunities for Bromley, Ball and Goggins, who had alright games. Mustashovich was characteristically unimpressive yet effective. I really wanted to see him step it up this year. We probably have a year full of our DE’s just getting a lot of attention. Lets hope it works out well for the LB’s and DT’s.
Sorry, probably should have elaborated.

That
would suck in so many ways. If true they must need more time to evaluate before making an announcement. It’s not like Marrone needs to con the selection committee into a number one seed.
We will not rest until we see these capitalist octopuses annihilated.
