Syracuse vs. Rutgers: I've Got A Bad Feeling About This
The more I realize that Doug Marrone closed off practice because the Syracuse Orange football team is overflowing by injuries, the more concerned I get about our game with the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Saturday.
Looks like the early report that Prince-Tyson Gulley was going to be out with a collarbone injury was not a "mistake" after all.
Marrone didn’t reveal the status of Gulley, who apparently suffered a collarbone injury. When asked about the sophomore, he said, "It doesn’t look good."
No official word on any of the other walking wounded (Chandler Jones, #SHAMARKO Thomas, Olando Fisher, Keon Lyn, Ri'Shard Anderson). Marrone specifically said that "we have two situations which are still up in the air."
Marrone also spoke at length about what it takes to stop on a step on his football field as a running back (learn to protect the QB). In other words...Steve Rene, Jerome Smith, Adonis Ameen-Moore...make sure your blocking is in order this weekend.
Another sleepless night for Doug Marrone. And perhaps, Syracuse fans as well.

Crap...
Back to back Cuse trips this week and really want to see a win this week (especially with these nouveau pompous losers). This is really worrying. You can really tell he is worried.
I am still confident we can take them down.
I do not want to feel unsteady against that team. Also, reading the On The Banks preview pissed me the hell off. If you haven’t had your early morning dose of rage yet, give it a read. They call Nassib a dink and dunk QB for one thing. Also, apparently on paper Rutgers is obviously the better team.
Anyway, I hope PTG is gonna be ok. I really like the way he has looked this year.
Clear eyes, full bologna sandwiches!
Hey guys,
OTB reader here. Hope its cool that I stopped by.
I have to say, we were definitely caught off guard by how good your teams were the past two years, but this year, I think you guys are a bit young at a bunch of key spots. Personally, I think Nassib is turning in a hell of a year, but he hasn’t run into a defense like Rutgers yet. It’s going to be very interesting to see if he’s a QB who rises to the level of competition, or ebbs and flows with increases and decreases in defensive opposition talent.
Either way, I think its going to be a great game, with tons of fire on bboth sides. You do know that the entire Big East is rooting for RU though, right? :)

My God
Whats going on here?
The injury list is almost as bad as last year. thank goodness we have even more depth than last year, but still. Weve got walk on’s in some key positions during the game on defense.
IN DOUG WE TRUST
I have faith in Marrone to come up with something brilliant and amazing and Rutgers crushing. Chandler Jones at runningback. RGLQBCL at safety. Das Boot at D-end. Eight wide receiver sets. Nassib snapping to himself and hitting Macky on the deep out pattern. Whatever it is…
IT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND!!!
We will not rest until we see these capitalist octopuses annihilated.
-Che Marrone
This should be a Shafer comment about this game.
But I stole it from somewhere else. There enough nerds on this site to figure out where. In any case I really hope this is what happens…
“Merely kicking a buthole isn’t enough: I’m going to get in there and set up shop. I am to inflict real and lasting harm. We’re going to call the structural integrity of the buthole into question. Future generations will examine the wreckage and wonder: was there ever a buthole here? Their greatest scholars will shake their heads and say to them, "No."
