The National Lacrosse League draft took place last night, and like I said yesterday, any pro lax event is swarming with Syracuse alum. It would only make sense that so many of them were drafted last night and will play on NLL teams in this upcoming season and beyond. Where did your favorite players land?
Stephen Keogh was drafted by the Rochester Knighthawks with the second overall pick. This comes right before they traded stud scorer Shawn Evans, so they will be relying on him. He was the first selection by the Knighthawks, home of many Syracuse players already.
Jeremy Thompson went to the Buffalo Bandits in the first pick of the second round, #9 overall. Thompson will have a big role in Buffalo this season, and the Bandits are arguably the best team in the NLL right now.
Joel White also went to Rochester with the #10 pick, the immediate pick after Thompson going to Buffalo. The KHawks needed defense, and White should help provide that for the young team.
Jovan Miller went in the last (sixth) round of the draft when the Colorado Mammoth selected him. The Mammoth are always looking for more offense, so he might be playing a bit more than he would be on other teams had they selected him.
The team with the most Orange players is still the KHawks, so they are your team to root for in pro lacrosse. You can read about the Knighthawks, NLL Draft and more at InLaxWeTrust.
