Songs to Taunt West Virginians With
I can’t burn it anymore.
It’s gettin’ worthless, too little TV coverage to see
I feel I’m knockin’ on the C-USA’s door.
Knock, knock, knockin’ the C-USA’s door
Knock, knock, knockin’ on the C-USA’s door
Knock, knock, knockin’ on the C-USA’s door
Knock, knock, knockin’ on the C-USA’s door
Mama, put my musket in the ground
I can’t shoot Panthers anymore.
That long media blackout is comin’ down
I feel I’m knockin’ on the C-USA’s door.
Knock, knock, knockin’ on the C-USA’s door
Knock, knock, knockin’ on the C-USA’s door
Knock, knock, knockin’ on the C-USA’s door
Knock, knock, knockin’ on the C-USA’s door
Almost heaven, West Virginia
Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River
Good football is old there, older than the trees
Younger than ridiculous greed, more ubiquitous than jingling keys
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, Conference USA
Take me home, country roads
All my mem’ries, gathered ’round the Big East
Miserable mistress, until Cuse and Pitt shot her
Dark and dusty, neglected so it’d die
Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, Conference USA
Take me home, country roads
I hear her voice, in the mornin’ hour she calls me
Pam Ward reminds me of my home, her voice like its decay
And drivin’ down the road I get the feeling’
That I my home was always in a state of disarray
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, Conference USA
Take me home, country roads
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, Conference USA
Take me home, country roads

eh
I’m still hoping that the ACC gets UConn and WVU. It helps ACC football and basketball.
Wait, what?
As long as WVU lands somewhere good
I could give two craps about Uconn and Rutgers. WVU deserves better though.
Dictated, but not read.
+1
Although rumour (a tip of the hat to the fans in the Canadian portion of the Otto-man Empire) is that the ACC won’t have WVU, due to the excessive number of coloring books for sale in the college bookstore or some such. If true, it’s a shame. They’re a damn good sports rival for SU and especially Pitt, the fans by and large take their ribbing in stride, and geographically they can’t hurt conference FB recruiting in Ohio. I would hate to lose these guys to the SEC. Maybe Tobacco Road is afraid of seeing the center of gravity move too far north?

so don't want Jersey Shore in the ACC...
…but UConn could help the basketball aspect even more.
Football is in trouble though. Pasqualoni managed to slowly destroy the SU program over a decade (Robinson merely accelerated the decline by a factor of 100), but had Mac’s recruits to pad him in the early years (and McNabb to bail him out in the middle). UConn has no comparison as far as talent compared the situation in 1992-93 (it was one of those years) when Pasqualoni took over. I suspect that UConn will be reduced to football mediocrity in pretty short order, which is too bad. I’m just shocked that UConn even considered the guy.
On a side note, I watched the UConn-Iowa St. game last week (I was flipping between that and Toledo/Boise St.). I could be wrong, but it was like watching SU in the last few years of Coach P’s regime only the team was blue and white instead of blue and orange. :oP
Wait, what?

Coach P stll brought in some prime recruits
Freeney and Ray Rice to name a couple. Go back and look at how many NFL players from Coach P’s days there are or have been. It’s pretty impressive.

Oh, he did bring in some damn good recruits...
…but the question is what he did he do with those recruits? Over his tenure, Coach P averaged only about 7 wins a year and much of that is due to his first two years (with Mac’s players) and the McNabb era (when he won games in spite of Coach P). That’s not really all that impressive when you consider that there was quite a bit of NFL talent on those teams.
Coach Mac definitely left the program in better shape when he left (which could include P’s 20 wins in his first two seasons since that was definitely Mac’s talent). I don’t think the same can be said when Pasqualoni left.
Wait, what?

He was committed to Syracuse
and decommitted when P left the premises
In Life You Get What You Deserve
Shitty academics, vile fans and no tv market, Oh and no more backyard brawl. Good luck in C-USA. See ya later mountainqueers!
You Reap what you sew
I don’t care what happens to WVU. It couldn’t happen to a more deserving university.
