Rob Long Headed To Cleveland Browns Camp
And just like that, we're all Cleveland Browns fans...
Maybe this is asking too much but any chance we can get him to wear #45?
You never like to hear that an opportunity is born from another player's injury but, such is life in the NFL. The Browns called Rob after punter Reggie Hodges went down with an injury yesterday and was carted off the field.
Enter Rob Long and hopefully, may he stay for a while yet.
"At this point, it's just a workout, and go from there,'' Long said before boarding his flight. "I'm excited to get a call at this point.''
Rob also mentioned his agent made calls to every NFL team and that the Browns were the only one to show any interest. Remember that whenever you watch a punter shank it this year.

And the Browns don't even look like the worst team in Ohio!

I know I shouldn’t, but shit man, the Browns? The amount of coincidences here is fucking mind boggling.
Hopefully he has as good a career as Ernie wasn’t able to have.

re: 45
You know Sean, I was kind of thinking the same thing. That number should have had a chance to be worn on the field by a Syracuse alum who battled illness.

but thanks to modern technology, was able to overcome it

Doesn't the NFL only allow certain numbers at certain positions...?
…so I don’t think they’d allow #45 to be worn by a punter….Damn NFL…..
Re: 45
The Browns did in fact retire 45 in honor of Ernie Davis.

According to
this article, the Browns have no other punters in camp. So unless Rob has more shanks than a prison shower, he has a great chance to make the squad.

March 12-13, 2009. End of discussion.
No one in camp
but they are working out a bunch of guys to see who they will sign.
May Doug Marrone bless you and keep you.
