Rob Long Undeterred In Quest For NFL Career
Of the many Syracuse football players who found their way into an NFL training camp last week, punter Rob Long was not one of them. It seems crazy that a player with such sterling credentials didn't even get a whiff, but, there you go.
To his credit, Rob remains undaunted in his quest. He took to Twitter to post this video showing off the goods, which, he's still got.
The silent Lone Gunman walk out to the middle of the field? Bad-ass.
Rob also posted some messages to remind everyone how undeterred he truly is...

We heart Rob Long.

Problem is the wealth of punters in the league right now
Hard for rookies to bust in right now.

I did my part and re-tweeted....
I hope it helps. We all love Rob Long, but more importantly from the NFL perspective, the guy can flat out punt. Why not at least invite him to a camp as a cheap alternative to a 5-10 year veteran?

i guess...
…with the new CBA, teams are being forced to spend all their money, causing them to sign punters for $19 million (see Bucs). not saying it is smart business, i agree with you…rooting for rob to catch on somewhere.
They just signed Steve Weatherford, who is the best punter in the league
Not happening.

Funny Thing Is...
He is not asking for guaranteed deal, he just wants a chance to prove it. Calling BS that at least one team in the NFL does not have a roster spot left to invite him just to try out even if they cut him later.
