That headline takes a long, winding road to get where it wants to go. But it gets there. Eventually.
Getting arrested, it's not just for Syracuse Football players anymore. Now, a Syracuse lacrosse player and incoming signee are getting in on the action as well.
Logan Tousaw, a sophomore defender for the Orange, and an 18-year-old male from Clifton Park, N.Y., were arrested in Lake Placid at 5:31 a.m. and charged with third-degree criminal mischief, attempted petit larceny, fifth-degree conspiracy and reckless endangerment of property.
Eric DeJohn, an incoming freshman to the Syracuse lacrosse program, was arrested at 9:40 a.m. on the same charges as Tousaw.
As for what they were doing specifically, the police report states that three males were breaking into cars, damaging cars, stealing items from unlocked cars, breaking mirrors, breaking windows and scratching up cars along the way. They also allegedly broke glass beer bottles in the road.
You know, good, clean, victimless fun. Tousaw, DeJohn and a third gentleman were arraigned and released after posting bail. Meanwhile, police are asking folks in the area to check their cars and report any further damage to add to the total, which is fantastic.
It's been a while since a Syracuse lacrosse player did something this dumb, so it's tough to say how Desko will react.
DeJohn was the 2010 Post Standard Central New York Boy’s Lacrosse Player of the Year. Let's now take some quotes from an interview he did with Inside Lacrosse out of context...
"I would say I’m the flashy guy..."
"I just hope to become a better person..."
"I just want to contribute and do whatever I can."
I think that is an advantage, to know the players and feel comfortable right off the bat."
A little too comfortable, me thinks...
