Stay connected for news and updates

Scoop Jardine's summer of camping fun continued over the weekend and will continue this week now that Scoop is one of 14 finalists for the 2011 USA Basketball Men's World University Games Team.

Jardine was one of 20 elite college players who participated in three days of training camp before the roster was cut. The selections were made by the USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Team Committee.

The training camp continues with two practices each day at the U.S. Olympic Training Center (USOTC) in Colorado Springs, Colo., July 31 through Aug. 7, and the official 12-member roster will be announced prior to Aug. 8, when the team departs for China.

The USA will play an exhibition contest against something called New Century, a Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) professional team on Aug. 11 in Huizho, China, before opening play in the 2011 World University Games on Aug. 13.

God willing, Scoop will blog about it all.
