Classic Pearl Washington, Sherman Douglas and Jim Boeheim Video

Found this great video segment via syracusenostalgia.com !

The date was October 25, 1986.

The broadcast is from WIXT-9 Eyewitness News in Syracuse, NY: Sports with Jack Morse

The report covers the #8 Syracuse loss at home to #14 Notre Dame 85-81.

It's worth it to watch the whole report, but here are some highlights:

At 12 seconds in, we are treated to a prototypical Pearl Washington juke and jumpshot footage. Watch him get separation with those little head n shoulder fakes, NICE.

At 38 seconds in, we are treated to a prototypical Sherman Douglas leaning, top of the lane jumpshot. How many times did he do that for Cuse over the years?

At 2 minutes and 1 second in, we get to see a cranky Jim Boeheim at the post-game press conference. Why is he cranky? Because in the game that had just ended, Cuse took 19 free throws and Notre Dame took 48...and some reporter asked him about the team's "foul trouble."

Enjoy!
