2011 NFL Draft Round 2 & 3: Will We Hear A Syracuse Player's Name Called?

The first round of the 2011 NFL Draft came and went and, as expected, no Syracuse players heard their names called. Rounds 2 & 3 begin tonight at 6 p.m. EST, and the chance now exists that at least one of them will find out their fate.

SB Nation has its Round 2 Mock Draft up and no Orange players are in it. The third round does seem more likely if its going to be this evening. Even if that does sound unlikely to you, just look at last night. Christian Ponder going 12th and Jake Locker going 8th defied the predictions of just about everyone. Who's to say Doug Hogue or Delone Carter isn't rated higher by one team than expected?

Of course, whether or not the the draftees and free agents will be able to play is another thing. Sounds like the lockout is back on. Harrumph.

In case you're wondering which Mock Draft folks to trust and which ones don't know their business, Real Clear Sports figured it out. Who else but Mel Kiper topped the list, along with NFL.com's Mike Mayock. You can probably stop reading what Evan Silva and Rob Rang have to say on NFL Draft matters now.

I’d like to think she is hoping DC3 goes in the 4th round.

This whole “dragging the draft out over three days” thing is irritating.

Agreed – it’s pretty stupid. The Saturday/Sunday thing was way better, IMHO.

What else is irritaing is knowng the pick before hand because ESPN shows the phone call

There is no dram left in the picks. Last night there were players lined up in the hallway with hats on ready to go before commish was even on the stage.
