Excuse me if I'm slow on this but according to Jon Rothstein, Syracuse will play in the 2011 NIT Season Tip-Off.
So I guess that means Jim Boeheim will soon say that he mentioned "Syracuse" and "2011 NIT Season Tip-Off" in the same conversation but not in relation to one another...
This would be the fifth time the Orange have participated in the Tournament ('88, '94, '01 and '07). The Orange won the Tournament in 1988 and 2001.
The good news is that the Orange are sure to add some quality OOC opponents to their early-season schedule. The bad news is that since the games will be played in MSG, no one will give us any credit for it. Such is Syracuse.
The Orange are also scheduled to play at NC State and in the Big East/SEC Invitational (against Kentucky, perhaps?). The Orange are 1-0 in the Invitational, beating Florida in Tampa (a Syracuse city) in 2009.
