You can try to keep us out but you can't stop us from traveling!
Loads of folks were in DC this weekend for the game. Many had tickets, others did not. Regardless, Syracuse fans came from near, far and wide to invade Georgetown's city.
The morning of the game we all got together at a bar next door to the Verizon Center.
Some of us got there at 9am to find hundreds of Georgetown students in line waiting to snag their seats for the game:
We took that opportunity to walk up and down the street clad in all Orange and listen to them scream and yell and try to talk trash.
That was a lot of fun.
I also saw an attempt at a big head that failed miserably (not everyone has their own @PManley, I guess):
I asked them who the big head was and they got quite defensive. "If you made a big head of Gerry McNamara we would know who it was!" Damn straight you would!
HoyaSuxa was there, and was a bit of a celebrity:
There were even a few Georgetown fans (BOOOOO!!!):
But really, we were a lot of Orange packed in there tightly and having a great time:
After the game, with Cuse victorious, many of us took to the streets, high-fiving fellow Orange fans leaving the arena and often breaking out into loud "Let's go Orange!!" chants. A few Georgetown fans tried to fight back with worthless comments, but most just held their heads in shame and walked slowly to the Metro.
I think I can speak for everyone when I say that it was fantastic experience. Not only was it wonderful to finally meet so many of the folks from NunesMagician and Twitter but it was even more amazing to see so many fans come together in the face of dirty Hoyas.
If you're curious to see the rest of the photos, the full set is on Flickr here.
And on that note, it's 9:24pm and Georgetown still sucks! LET'S GO ORANGE!!
