Carmelo's debut for the Knicks worked out quite well. Everyone had a great time...except maybe Andy. (H/T: Gregg)

Poor Andy
then again, he’s still getting paid $600k a year to sit on the bench with one of the best seats in the house.
I’ll swap with him.
I've been involved in a number of cults, both as a leader and a follower. You have more fun as a follower. But you make more money as a leader.
Right
Andy’s broke with everything he’s spent on Armani alone.

A sideline seat last night was going for ~ $12k
He could’ve saved himself the trouble and made enough for a fun weekend in Atlantic City.
Knicks fans:
Does Leo’s boy have any real shot to stick with this team?
Considering the amount of 3pt bricks put up last night
They have to give him a shot at some point…
He’ll have to turn it around similar to what JJ Redick did for the Magic. When he gets a chance make the most of it. If he does stay, I doubt he gets any PT. D’Antoni hates using his bench. I can’t speak for what he does practice, but during the Summer League games he looked awful, bricking everything. Didn’t look like the lights out shooter we are used to seeing.
I doubt he stays on the team, he’ll need to get a chance elsewhere
D Nichols
had major issues when he went pro. In college you have coaches working with you on technique. In the pros, you have to hire personal coaches to coach your shot and work for hours on form and stuff. His went to hell and he came back to cuse to get help from Hop. Lebron has a bunch of his own coaches who work with him individually.
I've heard rumors he's been hurt, diminishing the already slim chance he would play much this year
The fact he wasn’t a “throw-in” piece in the Melo deal might bode well for him, although I don’t think he was ever considered a dealbreaker or anything like that.

Why is he not even dressed to play?
Does that indicate he is on some type of reserve?

Thought it was Inactive [Coach's Decision]
Like the 53 man roster, and the number allowed to “dress” on gameday in the NFL.
He's not hurt
But he was “inactive” for last night’s game, as he has been for a lot of this year’s games. You can only dress 12 players in an NBA game but your roster can be as many as 15. So you have to pick players who you don’t expect to play to make inactive.

He's been inactive a lot
Why not send him to the D league? Is he great to scrimmage against in practice or what?
Other people look, Andy Rautins can SEE.

Knicks are reportedly reluctant
to send Andy to D league because they lack depth at guard and he is a turned ankle or two away from playing. Why they don’t dress him in that case I don’t know…
Holy shit, he really does! It's the eyes, I think.
