We spend all college football season pining over the fact that Big East football doesn't measure up to SEC football. But every once in a while we're reminded of why that's okay. Because we're not lunatics that do things like the Toomer's Corner tree poisoning.
About the worst we do is put an t-shirt of our team's colors on another school's statue. That's about the extent of our vengeance.
But it does make you wonder. What if one of our rival decided to kick it up a notch? Auburn fans are beside themselves over this destruction of their great tradition. And I know we might not have something quite on the same level, but I wondered if there is something or some kind of tradition on campus we hold so dear that we'd freak the f*** out if it were damaged irreversibly.
I posed the question on Twitter and you folks had some mighty-fine thoughts on the matter.
So the question is begged... Let's keep in mind that we're talking about a specific gameday object or tradition. So it wouldn't be a building or a trophy, per se. So I think that leaves us with a couple specific options.
The Ernie Davis Statue
The Varsity Banners
The Saltine Warrior
So if one of those things were destroyed or desecrated, which one would bother you the most?
