Syracuse vs. UConn: Orange Arrival Still A Go

Concerns over whether or not the game will happen remain. Despite the snow on the ground, however, the game is still scheduled and on for tomorrow night at 7 p.m.  The Orange are scheduled to arrive in Hartford at 5 p.m. tonight and so far there's no indication they won't make it though similar flights have been grounded or delayed. The Huskies head to Hartford via buses tonight as well.

UConn has released an official statement saying...nothing. Just to keep an eye out for more official statements.

If and when the Orange do arrive, they'll have to get their defense in order. The Juice says SU needs to stop the bleeding, especially up top.

Syracuse has been allowing too many open 3s over the past four games. Pittsburgh, Villanova, Seton Hall and Marquette have gone a combined 33-for-69 from 3-point land during that stretch.

Specifically, it’s been the top of the zone that has allowed opponents to penetrate to the soft spots of Syracuse’s defense. Guards Scoop Jardine, Dion Waiters and Triche have not been as active during the last four games.

Another thing the Orange need to do once they get to Hartford? Not go to Chipotle. There are two in the vicinity. Barricade doors, people.

They also probably want to worry about Kemba Walker. Though Seth Davis says Kemba is in a slump, a slumping Kemba Walker is still dangerous enough to give SU fits, especially the way we've been playing defense lately. And to answer your question, yes, he can hit the three.

Through 20 games this season, Walker made more 3s (40) than he did all of last season in 34 games (38). He's hit three or more 3-pointers in six games this season — a feat he accomplished just three times in his career prior to this year.

And his ability to drive the lane — the skill that's always been his strength — has only become more dangerous. Now teams have to respect his jump shot, and they can't pack the paint with all five defenders.
