Matt Barkley, Syracuse Will Meet Again In 2012

You probably heard today that USC Trojans QB Matt Barkley will be returning for his senior year.

You probably remember when Barkley torched the Orange for 324 yards and five touchdowns in a 38-17 win back in September.

You probably don't want to hear this but, Barkley's return means that the Orange will see him again in 2012 when the Trojans and Orange meet up in the Meadowlands.

Because of the return of Barkley, USC should be ranked near the top 5 in the preseason college football polls when they play the Orange probably early next year -- this season, the teams played in Week 3.

So that's grand. It's also probably fair to say that Barkley will be a Heisman front-runner next year.

FBSschedules.com says the game takes place Sept. 8th, though not official date has been set.

Well, DOC Gross. You wanted Syracuse to play at the Meadowlands in the national spotlight...you got it. Let's hope to God we figure out how to tackle him and/or intercept him between now and then.
