Fumbles
I mentioned it a couple weeks ago. Carter needs to hold on to the rock if he even wants a chance to prove himself as a pro. Caldwell didn’t mince any words. 2 fumbles in 75 carries in unacceptable for an NFL back. That’s not to say he can’t turn it around. Plenty of great back (Adrian Petersen, Tiki Barber, Ahman Green) started off their careers with reputations as fumblers. The difference is that Carter isn’t so outstandingly talented that coaches are willing to overlook it. Squeeze the rock, Delone. It’s your best chance to stick.

I could be wrong here
But didn’t DC3 go four full seasons without a fumble at SU? I’m sure NFL players are better at ripping the ball out than in college, but damn.

without a lost fumble
I think he did fumble a few times, but SU maintained possession each time.
Shut up brain or I'll stab you with a Q-tip
Maybe.
But it doesn’t really matter. Once you’re in the NFL, coaches don’t care what you did or didn’t do in college. Just like they don’t care why you put the ball on the ground. I didn’t see this last game, but I did see the fumble a couple weeks ago. That first one, honestly, looked just like bad luck where his grip slipped before the ball was punched out. But it doesn’t matter. A fumble is a fumble.

Not disagreeing
I was more shocked that he would suddenly start fumbling after being historically pretty good with ball security (insert joke here).
