In keeping with what the Coaches Poll thinks, the Associated Press put the Syracuse Orange at No. 5 in their 2011-2012 preseason poll.

North Carolina is your No. 1 once again, receiving 62 of the 65 first-place votes. They're followed by No. 2 Kentucky, No. 3 Ohio State and No. 4 UConn.

The Orange received 1338 points, which leaves them a ways behind UConn but far enough ahead of No. 6 Duke.

Louisville (9), Piitsburgh (10), Cincinnati (21) and Marquette (22) are Big East teams also join Syracuse in the Top 25.

Not that you needed any further proof but let there be no doubt that expectations are through the roof for the Orange this season.

SB Nation NY has more on the Orange in the Top 25.
