Great stats, thanks!
I love reading these, and wanted to say thanks for putting this list together each week. It does not go unnoticed or unappreciated!
Looks like DC3 is coming along!
Delone Carter (Indianapolis Colts) – 10 carries for 89 yards (long of 42 yds), 1 fumble & 1-TD in loss @ New Orleans
Bummer about the fumble, but his stats are getting better and better each week. That avg (8.9 yards per carry!) is really good. Plus a TD. Did they recover the fumble or did it get turned over? Seems like the only dark spot on an otherwise great game from him at least.
Yeah, he lost it
Can’t happen to a young RB trying to break in. He’s putting up some decent numbers, but it’s not like he’s Adrian Peterson either, where you can overlook putting the ball on the ground because he brings so much more to the table. Coaches will take zero fumbles over 8.9 ypc 11 times out of 10.

Keep in mind Addai was hurt, so Delone got the full load when he otherwise wouldn't have.
I think he did fine considering the rest of that team is pure crap. His fumble doesn’t stand out at all IMO when you look at how badly New Orleans beat down Indy.
Clear eyes, full bologna sandwiches!
Of course not
It’s not like it was a critical fumble by any stretch. But, at the same time, a RB’s first job is to hold onto the football. That’s what coaches are looking at when making evaluations. Addai has been on a downward spiral for the last couple years. With him out who knows how long, this is a great chance for Delone to show that he’s capable of being a feature back. And that starts with holding onto the rock, no matter what the final score is.

That's true.
Though if you look at the comments out there by Indy fans, you wouldn’t even know he fumbled. The general consensus among fans, FWIW, is that Carter was the single positive thing the Colts can point to from Sunday night. Obviously the fans aren’t the coaches and the coaches next year will likely be entirely new (doubt Caldwell lasts the season), but if the overall attitude is that Addai should go while Brown, Carter and maybe someone else get their shot, then I like Delone’s chances. He hasn’t been fumble prone to this point after all, so I doubt it will be something that haunts him.

Yeah
I mean, he’s only carried 65 times. If he fumbled EVERY 65 carries, that would be a problem. But right now it’s too small a sample size to label him a fumbler. I’m just saying that he can’t make a habit of it. Assuming Addai is on the way out in favor of a cheaper replacement, I like Carter’s chances as well. He was known as a bruiser at Syracuse, but he’s a good all-around back. GIven the fact that he’s already ahead of Brown on the depth chart, I’d say it’s his job to lose.
As for Caldwell, I think he keeps his job, although his D-coordinator is likely to go. The team is built around Manning ability to read the defense and score pretty much at will. He essentially is the O-corrdinator. You can’t expect Kerry Collins or Curtis Painter to do what Manning does. And the defense is designed to play from ahead. So, really, that’s the GM’s fault. He assembles the team. Caldwell can only play the pieces he’s given. It’s hard to say if another coach could do a better job in that situation. I do find it interesting, though, that football is more a team game than any other, but Indy is so soley dependent on Manning.

Love it
And I must say, stoner or not, Tanard Jackson CAN PLAY! All that time he has missed? He has instantly made an impact on that defense!
