Hi friends. I know that this is first and foremost a sports blog, but it is also a blog for those who love Syracuse University and our Orange community. As most of you know, today's news of the death of Moammar Gadhafi and the imminent end of his regime offers some level of closure to perhaps the saddest, most tragic event to impact our University. The Gadhafi regime's Dec 21, 1988 killing of 270 people on Pan Am 103 and in Lockerbie, Scotland included 35 of our fellow students. I was a Freshman at that time and while I never knew any of the victims, I still have a real sense of loss for those friends I never had a chance to meet.
Just wanted to offer that my thoughts are with the families and friends of those we lost on that day.
