Syracuse Midnight Madness: Sold Out & Almost Showtime
Well, I guess you really wanted to go to Syracuse Orange Midnight Madness. The event is officially sold out.
All of the tickets issued at the Carrier Dome Box Office, the Schine Student Center and area AmeriCU Credit Union branches are gone. Tickets were free, but fans must have a ticket to get into the Dome.
The high expectations of the 2011-2012 Orange and the excitement of the Legends Game is just too much to pass up. Understood.
One Legend that's still up in the air is Carmelo Anthony. He has yet to confirm officially. That might be because he's actually going to be in Manhattan all day. Carmelo is doing a meet-and-greet at Modell's in Times Square that runs until 3:00pm. It's not out of the realm of possibility he could book it to the airport, hop a short flight to Syracuse and make it in time...but I dunno. I'll believe it when I see it.
Regardless, you should still be there to see Hakim Warrick, Derrick Coleman, Jonny Flynn, Gerry McNamara, Roosevelt Bouie, Adrian Autry, Wesley Johnson, Pearl Washington and Donte Greene...not to mention some others who might show. Some of them will sign autographs and take photos for fans between 7-8 p.m.
Boeheim's not a huge fan of Midnight Madness, though I suspect having so many great players from his past in the building helps make it enjoyable. He's Jim Boeheim, there is a limit to how excited he gets.

Dana O'Neil, veiled jab at SU?
Your old friend Dana O’Neil has an interesting take (jab?) on today’s sports journalism that I thought SU nation might find interesting…
It is bad enough when the attacks come from fan sites, that murky gray area of our new world where people perform as journalists but are paid by teams or universities. Then the reporter who broke the news has an agenda or is a hater.
Pretty sensitive (imo), though interesting in light of the flack she received for her ill-founded comments regarding SU/Pitt and ACC expansion.

Paid by a team or university?
WHERE THE HELL IS MY CHECK?
Yeah, this is the “I drive a Dodge Stratus” of journalism posts.
I have a journalism degree so what I say is important and worth listening to and you don’t so your opinion is less-than. Great, thanks.

If anyone happens
to have a pair of spare tickets floating around for tonight, you should probably let me know.
I’d at least tell you that you were awesome, and maybe even grab a beer for you on the hill beforehand.
Free Tickets are Great but need to be limited on how handed out
There are a bunch of posts on Craigslist of ppl who hoarded tickets and are now trying to sell them for $10 a piece.
Its a shame they are trying to make a $ when real fans are stuck sitting at home while tickets are ultimately going to waste
