If Syracuse wins @ UW next week, is that the HCDM turn around signature win for the program??
Like the title says, say we win @ UW next week. Is that the signature, we are turned around, we are no longer a bottom feeder, signature win for HCDM and the Cuse program?? Will the media and pundits, argue that a now 2 loss UW team wasnt that good to begin with?? Are we getting ahead of ourselves? Does a HCDM turnaround the program signature win need to be against a BE team? On the road?? Maybe later in the season?? What are your thoughts???

That'd be difficult
…. since we play them in our 5th game (and since it’s after a week off, it’s arguably week 6).
If we're better than 5-7 this year...
… the signature win was beating Rutgers last year. At least, barring one of those out of nowhere charmed seasons that has a somehow in the BCS or a top-tier bowl this year.
Depends on how the season ends
Think his signature win is still to come

Hey now
Washington beat USC last year. If Syracuse can win @ UW (aka something USC couldn’t do), why couldn’t we beat USC? The timing couldn’t be better – USC is on the downslope and SU is on the upswing.
GO ORANGE
usc used to be good and syracuse used to suck
now usc is about to suck, and Syracuse is on the verge of sweetness.
the common factor between good usc and good SU?

Bah
As if G-Rob would have used him properly anyway.
So many G-Rob failures to think about…
Opener against WVU… we shut them down but can’t score… imagine how differently things could have been? Washington…Iowa… MIami (OH) after the Louisville win. Akron at home. WVU and Pitt in his final year where he looked victory squarely in the eye and said “no thanks, we’d rather flash.”
IMO
Yes, going all the way over there and beating them is a sig win indeed!!

Eh
Not a conference game, not an elite team, and not a rival in any sense. It’d say good things about the team, but if we’re good enough to go to Washington and win (and after losing to us and BYU, UW still turns out to be a respectable team), I’d expect to be good enough to win 3-4 Big East games and beat BC — and all of those would mean more.
Beating an 0-2 Pac10 bottom feeder does not a signature make.
When we beat Boston College to secure a bowl bid, Marrone can put his “John Hancock” all over it.
Hmmm
Not necessarily a signature win, but I DO think it would turn heads nationally. There is a lot of hype around Jake Locker, their coach Sarkisian is “famous” because of the USC connection, and they were picked to do good things this year. A downtrodden ’Cuse team which is trying to regain respect win by win would do itself a huge favor in terms of perception by winning this game.
In short, I’d hesitate to call it a “signature” anything yet…but damn, it sure would be a HUGE win for the program and for HCDM.

Signature win
Given that we have not won more than one BE conference game in the post P era, I think a second BE win would be a great start.
I thought we looked great yesterday, but keep in mind that we are still very young and very thin. There will be injuries. By the time we get to Game 9, who knows who we will be playing at various positions.
Let’s just take them one at a time and see what happens. If we can beat Washington,as kotite4ever noted, the national media might begin to wonder what’s happening.
Exactly
Even a throwaway line on ESPN’s college scoreboard would be nice, “Wow, Syracuse with the upset road win at Washington – the Orange appear to be on the way back.” Or something to that effect.
HUGE week this week!

It's on TWCS again
or it is at least listed to be on there again.

I
hear what some of you are saying and there valid points but nobody really expected us to beat Washington at the begining of the season, and even tho they lost they still have a heisman candidate at quartedback and going across the country will be no easy task, and we could start out 4-0, unless you think washington is not good, and then I would ask why we are 11 point underdoggs. If they win and win go 4-0 u bet ur ass thats a signature win, LOL IMO.

It would definitely be a good win
the somewhat lower level of competition would be enhanced by the cross-country travel. But I think the win against Rutgers last year was when the rest of the Big East sat up a little and took notice, and I think a win over either Uconn or BC at the end of the year (especially if it clinches a bowl) would count much more towards national perception.

Maybe I'm
a little biased since I remember when Washington used to actually be good, but I think this would be a humongous win for gaining respect back.
But I think it will be very hard to beat them after they just lost. Very hard. We can’t surprise them now.
PS No Chipotle!
If they beat UW
who are we kidding, we are all going to be creaming like hes the 2nd coming of Schwartzwalder if they have two wins in a row. hahahahahah! GO CUSE!
Two wins in a row against FBS teams?
Ah, just like the good old days.
Even more amazing is that G-Rob had a 3-game winning streak during his abortion of a tenure. 30% of his wins in one happy fortnight.
