Doug Marrone Was Displeased This Weekend
As bothered as you might have been by Saturday's crushing loss to Washington, I assure you no one was more bothered than Doug Marrone. And according to the Seattle Times' Bud Withers, HCDM shared his displeasure with the staff immediately following the game:
Syracuse coach Doug Marrone had a profanity-laced post-game talk with his team, audible to media members outside the 'Cuse locker room at Hec Edmundson Pavilion.
Marrone, who has brought tight discipline to the Orange program, had harsh words for the way they "travel," apparently referring to habits on the road that he feels don't help lead to victory.
On the flight out to Seattle, for instance, Marrone wanted to discourage sleeping on the plane to limit the effects of possible jet lag, so he had the lights kept on the entire flight. The Orange watched two movies, "The Karate Kid" and "Shrek," and between them, he had the team get up and walk around.
Can I make a suggestion? How bout we table Karate Kid and Shrek and put on something a little more "intense?" At the very least if we have to keep this PG let the guys watch something like The Dark Crystal. You give me a defensive line envisioning themselves as Skeksis, I'll show you a winner.

Well
he had a lot to be displeased about. Mainly, I didnt see our D-line hit Jake Locker right in the mouth, as promised. And no. one. breaks a promise. to HCDM.
And Im pretty sure
Necessary Roughness should have been the in flight movie. Scott Bakula, Sinbad, Robert Loggia and Kathy Ireland as a scrappy bunch of ne’er do wells rebuilding a football program
especially Robert Loggias inspirational speech at the end.
“YOU GO OUT THERE! YOU TEAR THEIR F*CKING HEADS OFF, AND YOU SH*T DOWN THEIR NECKS! Let us pray.”
He may not have been punched in the mouth
but I bet you the guy is still hearing Chandler Jones footsteps in his sleep. They may not have got to him as much as they hoped but he was not sitting in that pocket comfortable all game either. Hogue and Smith also provided a lot of pressure up front but the problem was that when he scrambled away, he was hitting the receivers with little issues.

In all seriousness...
…I would kill to hear one of these Marrone tirades, or at least get a transcript telling us the “gist” of it.

If I had known
That Mike Myers, Mr. Myigi and Mrs. Blankenbush would be used to motivate the team, I would have picked the huskies…
agreed. love that movie
anyone see the Robot Chicken rap music video spoof of it? It’s fan-freaking-tastic. Just search for “dark cristal” (no, that’s not a typo) and you’ll find it.
What the names of those slow things
that spend the entire movie walking. Seriously, these things would have taken two weeks to cross the Quad.

if syracuse wants to win this type of game
the offensive line has to give nassib a FEW chances to let the receivers get open. their play has been brutal. how can you run the ball also when the other team is in the backfield!
secondary better practice the fundamentals of tackling again.
Talent and Depth are better but not good enough yet
That’s what I get out of this one.
1st Q was good, 2nd Q was okay, 3rd and 4th were bad.
Not enough skill or depth in the secondary yet, and really once UW made adjustments even the front seven had issues.
That time management at the end of the 1st half was absolutely brutal and that’s on HCDM.
Overall the effort is still there though, 21 point loses are never good but this lose looks a lot better then the 21 pts loses of the GRob era.
SU can and will build from this loss.

2nd quarter was def. not okay
Thats when the momentum went full swing to UW and SU made costly mistakes in every aspect of the game. The 3rd quarter was absolutely disgraceful. At least during the 4th quarter the offense showed some signs of life, but that may also be because the game was basically outta reach. Smith forcing the fumble to set up an easy TD is exactly the type of game-changing plays we need of the of the D this year. This one was just too late.
Anyways, I’m not here to argue with you. And you are entirely correct that there is much to build from with this loss, two weeks in the glass is more than half-full on this season thus far.

We used to watch
movies like The Program and Scarface on our bus trips. Nothing like coming home from Kent St at 2:30 AM with Scarface blaring in your ear while you try to sleep.
Without Gerry McNamara we wouldn't have won 10 f-- games, not 10

Dougy has
got to let these guys be men. I would have recommended Edward Penus hands and/or Rear and Pleasant Danger for the west bound movie. It’s not the Karate Kid unless Ralph Macchio is involved.
Shrek is about as vanilla as our play calling.

Wait wait wait,
Was it the original Karate Kid or that remake crap starring the Fresh Prince’s kid that recently came out? Big difference, my friends.
I personally believe the guys should take their cue from the Otto’s Army bus trips and watch the 6 Overtime Game followed by the 2003 National Championship.
IT TOOK
6 overtimes, and it was almost over even before it began!!!!!
