Rough Start For The Orange In Orlando Summer League
Paul Harris, Demetris Nichols, and Darryl Watkins got into their teams' first summer league games yesterday. The fact that each received some playing time is about the best thing you can say for them. Here are the less-than-impressive statlines:
HARRIS: 3 minutes, no points, no shot attempts, 1 rebound, 1 steal, 1 turnover, 2 fouls. (box score)
NICHOLS: 6 minutes, 3 points, 1-1 from the floor, 1-1 from the line, one turnover. (box score)
WATKINS: 8 minutes, no points, 0-1 from the floor, 2 rebounds, 2 assists (nice), one turnover, 3 fouls. (box score)
I am at this very moment watching the Summer Jazz play the Summer Magic on NBATV, hoping to get a glimpse of Harris or Nichols. So far I haven't seen either in action. I did miss the first quarter, so I suppose there is a chance that they played already. I suppose.

is it just me
or does is seem like nichols always does well when hes in the games, but he just doesnt get playing time. like this kid was 1-1 with 3 points in 6 minutes. in a full game he would be scoring 24 points at that rate. his stats are never off the charts but hes solid and consistent, give him a chance to play a complete game!
It's not that bad
Collectively they shot 50 percent from the floor.
3 TOs and 5 fouls
in 17 minutes…….ewwwwwwwwww.
Though to be fair, Nichols shouldn’t be lumped in with the other two. He had a good 6 minutes, whatever that’s worth.
Go Orange(men)!
wow daryl watkins hasn't changed a bit since we last saw him!
3 fouls in 8 minutes?? talk about deja vu!
I remember his senior year
when Daryl started making his FTs. I said “oh my God. Now he can go hard to the basket… hes going to be unstoppable” but alas – still a pussy.
