The S.O.B.'s Cometh Againeth

It's that time of the year again. The fourth annual Syracuse Orange Blogger (S.O.B.) Awards are upon us.  If you're new to all of this, here's how it works.

All of the participating Syracuse blogs will get together and vote on various awards related to the most recent Syracuse basketball season.  I will collect and sort the answers to figure out the winners.  And then, over the course of a few days, each blog will introduce a certain number of award winners on an hourly basis.  It's like a giant Syracuse blogging award snake.

Take a look at the past year's results to get a good feel (and for those who know the deal, stroll on down memory lane).

The 2007 S.O.B. Awards

The 2008 S.O.B. Awards

The 2009 S.O.B. Awards

The full list of participating blogs, which grows every year, will be figured out soon.  As an added little wrinkle, I've going to list out the categories we will definitly vote on this year.  The question is...are we missing anything?  Let me know in the comments if you think there's an award or category we need to recognize that we aren't already.  Or do we need to break down a category to make it even more interesting or fair?

I'd expand the last one

To include Facebook statuses

Though I have a feeling that’s going to be an obvious winner.

Only basketball

so Mike’s legendary FB status wouldn’t make the cut

Best "Posterizing" Moment

Sort of breaking out best photo, but could be a video as well, culminating in the “poster” still shot. Along the lines of the Hakim Warrick / Royal Ivey teabag moment…

"...anything pre-mature is usually bad."

it’s from a presser but I forget which one. Home game….Providence, maybe? I think he had a few gems during that one.

I gotta say, I will take the Butler loss, and the two weak showings against Louisville, and really make this the DePaul game. We spent 98% percent of the game behind the worst team in the Big East by far.
Biggest Villain/Nemesis
Its still Nova
Best Photo
Gotta be the Florida player crapping his pants.

One of the key contests in Syracuse's march to the national championship in 1959 was a titanic clash with unbeaten Penn State on Nov. 7, 1959 in University Park, PA. The Nittany Lions were ranked No. 7 and the Orangemen No. 4.

The 20-18 victory propelled Syracuse to the No. 1 in both the AP and UPI polls which they held for the remainder of the season to claim the consensus National Championship. This is the Universal Newsreel account of that contest.
