Overworked Referees?
From Yahoo Sports:
A few weeks after UConn coach Jim Caloun suggested that referees are overworked in the wake of a critical blown call in one of the Huskies' games, officials refuted that notion. Although top referees do officiate as many as 90 games in a 4-to-5 month season, they also typically work regionally, stay in high-full-service hotels and consistently work out and eat healthy to stay in top shape.

Three things...
- Why is Calhoun still ranting about the timeout called by Boeheim? I understand that the timeout was executed poorly by the refs, but Boeheim propertly called the timeout and it should have been granted before Scoop lost control of the ball. If the referee failed to call it in that time, thats a bummer. But at least it was the right result. I would say that his point that they are overworked, amongst other things, is right, though.
- Work regionally, really?... don't these refs now work in multiple conferences. I think Higgins works both Big Ten and Big East games. Working a game in DC one night, and Wisconsin the next isn't exactly regional.
- Work out and eat healthy to stay in top shape? Yeah, that's what I think of when I see this...
