Jim Boeheim selected as National Coach of the Year

Yahoo!Sports has selected Syracuse's Jim Boeheim as the National Coach of the Year in college basketball.

Columnist Jason King noted that Syracuse was picked to finish sixth in the BIG EAST Conference in the league's preseason poll but the Orange have secured the conference regular-season championship and the top ranking in both national polls.

Yahoo!Sports also announced its all-conference teams. Wes Johnson (www.suathletics.com/wesleyjohnson) was named the league's Newcomer of the Year and Kris Joseph was selected the league's top Sixth Man. Johnson earned first-team All-BIG EAST Conference and Andy Rautins was on the second team.

Syracuse closes out its regular season at Louisville on Saturday March 6. The game will be televised by ESPN.

If only Rautins was on the first-team All-BIG EAST Conference then I would 100% agree with Mr. King.
