Not sure how I feel about this choice. We all know Steve Lavin from his UCLA days, he certainly has had success in the past. But who knows whether he has the connections to NYC and east coast high school and AAU programs to bring in any talent. Most kids today will know him only as a talking ESPN head who they tended to phase out of their coverage since he rarely had anything useful to say. But I guess anytime the conference gets another "name" coach it can't be too bad. The Big East will be better off with a viable and vibrant St John's program so I wish Lavin just enough luck to bring them back into the conversation without threatening SU's dominance.
