Several hundred fans gathered to watch the open practices of the NCAA East Regional basketball tournament being hosted by Syracuse University. The Wildcats, the No. 1 seed in the region, were the last team of the four teams in the region to take the court. They followedr Washington, Cornell and West Virginia.
As the Big Blue hit the hardwood, they heard the boos. Moments later came the chant: “Let’s go Orange.” When Kentucky fans countered with, “Go Big Blue,” they were drowned out by more boos.
