Holy Crap Villanova
WOW. I just gotta say I did NOT see this one coming. As of this post, theres still about 4 minutes left and I wouldn't be surprised if they pull it out, but seriously, this is the same Robert Morris team we crushed by 40 in the Dome and Pitt crushed by 22 last month. Either way, with Notre Dame losing to ODU (albeit not as surprising), this was NOT the start I was hoping the BE would put on in the tourney.

Let's hope...
…that the Big East gets its bed-crapping out of the way today.

Villanova is surprising (they’re going to win in OT… they probably would’ve lost without a few late-game gifts from the officials). But Notre Dame shouldn’t surprise you by losing. They were vastly overseeded as a 6.
I can't believe ND was in the game at all
seeing as Harangody didn’t score at all until there was like a minute left in the game. I think ’Nova was in the same boat too, with Reynolds having a crappy day shooting.

Could it be
that someone is going around poisoning the Big East stars? No way this is coincidence! Conspiracy!!
I think it was a secret plot by the PAC 10
who were jealous of having only 2 teams in the tourney as opposed to our 8

you're right
ND really wasn’t surprising at all, but I did expect them to win even though ODU did smack around G’town early in the season. Poor choice of words on my part. But I’m sure as hell glad ‘nova came back. Losing to mid-majors never looks good in the tourney, I don’t care how “good” people believe some of them to be.

As soon
as I saw that the game went to OT I figured the game was over. In order to pull the upset you need to finish it off in regulation. Good teams just seem to pull themselves together in those extra 5 minutes.
Without Gerry McNamara we wouldn't have won 10 f-- games, not 10
Except SU/Vermont
Of course, teams aren’t supposed to win with freshmen, and we did that in 2003. Here’s hoping AO can get back soon and we can be the first team to lose in first round of conf. tournament and win it all.
HEAL!
In other words
The ’cuse refuses to follow your rules.
Case in point
Murray State over Vanderbilt
BTW, that might make our road a little easier.

it didn’t hurt that RM wasn’t nearly as deep with 2 major contributors already fouled out and 2 more with 4 fouls each. once it reached overtime there wasn’t much hope but they put up one hell of a fight. Would have looked terrible for the Big East to lose its first two games so in the that regard its a positive
When Scottie Reynolds hit that 3 in OT with the shot clock running out
I think Robert Morris fans instantly understood “Scottie effin’ Reynolds”.
Oh c'mon
The joy from seeing Georgetown lose would far exceed the Big East pride in their victory.
4-4 for the Big East
The teams with 10+ losses going into the tourney all lost. The teams with less than 10 losses won. I think that says something about whether G’Town should have been a 3-seed with 10 losses… with no excuses at all for 10 losses. I also have no idea how Notre Dame was a 6 seed. But a 6 can lose to an 11.
Meanwhile… Louisville and Marquette lost to the #1 and #2 teams in the Pac-10. Before any Pac-10 teams start sucking either other’s popsicles over the upsets… I think both games were evenly matched.
I’d rank the disappointments:
1. G’Town losing.
2. Villanova barely winning.
3. Notre Dame losing
4. L-ville losing big
5. Marquette barely losing
Meanwhile.. kudos to the Cuse, WVU, and Pitt for showing why they are 1-2-3 in the B.E. by holding serve.
