It's time for payback
dueling Joseph Brothers… No.1 seed… seeing Tom Brennan cry…. I want it all

Thank god it's not in Worcester
Let’s use a site that has dead spots in the floor for the NCAA Tournament!
i'm already getting shit on facebook for this vermont thing
can’t wait til we beat them so i can stop hearing it all
I like the bracket...
I think we will be ready after getting a dose of potential reality in the last 2 games…
I think we actually have a pretty tough road
especially with Vermont first, and then with K-State and Pitt on the other side, and if we get beyond that we get Kansas early
Exorcise the Vermont Demons!
A haiku:
Committee screwed us
We shouldn’t be in Utah
Is AO back yet?
LETS GO ORANGE!
There. Buck up folks.
Duke is done in second round.
We play in Buffalo in first 2 rounds.
We have favorable bracket save for Pitt.
SHUT IT DOWN!
The 'Cuse is in tha house, oh my God oh my God.
I think lllvlll could give Duke fits
press them for 40 minutes
Syracuse players have a lot of length.
bought two tickets to houston
earlier. Such fucking bullshit.
Of course this committee would find a way to kick us in the balls, then do it again with Vermont.
Otherwise, I think that we have a decent draw. No Big East teams before Pitt.
I’m worried about gonzaga though
Agreed
Gonzaga is what scares me. Seems pretty agreed across the “experts” that Gonzaga is underseeded as an 8.
no kidding
Everyone had them playing as a top 4/5 seed in Spokane before they lost their WCC title game. Now they’re an 8 seed?
Syracuse players have a lot of length.
I almost bought Houston tickets.
Really wanted that South bracket so I could actually see them. Oh well.
NOt bad
Could’ve been better, could’ve bee worse
I too was scared when I saw Vermont. But let’s be honest — if we can’t beat Vermont, we have no right to complain about anything. Let’s win two games in Buffalo and move on.

Must stop...
Reading Syracuse-related tweets (despite the fact it’s been trending since the beginning of the selection show).
They’re still not getting any respect (to the point that it’s obnoxious). Hopefully, the team feels this too because they always play better with a chip on their shoulders.
Game Time?
When do they announce times? I want to scalp some tix for Friday. Will we play afternoon or night? Seem to recall 1 seeds play at night… Anyone know?
Who and why?
Who is this Jameson Fleming that calls himself a freelance sports journalist? And why is he saying AO is definitely out?
I just heard it on 1260 the score. "AO very likely out."

Damn
What an awful way to end an incredible season (for AO and the team)
Indeed.
Let’s play the games, shall we? AO is great to have, but I think we’re capable of the Sweet 16 without him.
by That Guy Mel on Mar 14, 2010 7:53 PM EDT up reply actions
We can definitely win without him.
In fact, there have been times when we were better WITHOUT him, namely in trap games.
Gonzaga
Looked tough when AO was still a possibility. Now it looks even tougher. They’ve got 2 big guys who are major impact players.
AO usually doesn't match up well with big guys anyway.
He excels against small teams and I know we can beat other big teams.
This always happens to SU, we never do good with expectations.
It seems everytime we’re a favorite going into March, we get beat by a garbage team or someone gets hurt. Ex: 2005 lost to Vermont, 1991 loss to Richmond, etc. When ever we make deep run it’s a bit of surprise.

To confirm upstate...
Axe just reported Boeheim said that AO will not practice tomorrow/tues, and if he doesn’t practice wednesday (which he said looks unlikely) he will not play the first weekend. Commence stomach turning….
Well...
That’s not good. I still think we can beat UVM without AO, but beyond that…uhh……

I had a nice chuckle when I saw we drew Vermont in the first round. They have some sense of humor, that selection committee. I know I’ll get some razzing from my ‘Cuse-hating friends here in Connecticut. But I know we’ll beat them. I am slightly worried about Gonzaga, though. (Even though they can get got, too.)
Go ORANGE! Beat the fucking Catamounts and get Tom Brennan away from TV again.
Vermont does not have the players they did in 05
no coppenrath or sorrentine, two guys who were fantastic college players. Cuse by 30
True....
But we’ll still be subjected to ESPN going to the wayback machine and trotting out those ‘05 highlights. Won’t be pleasant, that’s for sure.
But we should be able to smash them this go-round. We’re better than in ‘05, they’re not as good and we’re gonna have a home-court advantage (of sorts) in Buffalo. We’ll be fine.

Kris Joseph's Brother
Can’t believe nobody has pointed out that KJ’s brother plays for Vermont.
What about Bob?
Let’s not get caught up in worrying about the Zags. Remember — we’re the #1 seed. Teams need to worry about SU’s weapons. And the Orangemen have a number of them.
Love the region
Possibly the easiest region….I’m thinking they easily make it up to Kansas then it gets tough

Easy now...
It will be tough — especially if we have to play without AO. But I do agree with you…SU’s draw is VERY favorable

I still see Duke as having the easiest draw
especially with a fading Nova and fading Purdue as their 2-4 seeds. Damnit, that should have been ours!

Nahhh...
Duke will struggle with the Ville if they get by Cal. L’Ville will cause all sorts of problems for Duke
by Cooper's Dad on Mar 14, 2010 8:33 PM EDT up reply actions
Depends which L'Ville team shows up
But if the right one does, I’m with you there. In the last 5 or 6 years, I’d say Duke is a team that consistently got a very high seed and then disappointed relatively early. I don’t think they’re going to the Elite Eight.
Other people look, Andy Rautins can SEE.
So much trouble with this second-round pick
I really, really, want to pick Louisville in my bracket. It’s tough though.
GO CUSE, BLUE, AND EAGLES!
DO IT
PICK THE VILLE!!! TO HELL WITH THOSE BLUE DEVILS! TO HELL WHERE THEY BELONG!!!
(hehehe…get it..? Hell? Devils? Do you see what I did there? Umm…hello?)

Schedule
When do they usually release the times of the games? Also, are games past the first weekend played during the day? I need to decide if I should take a personal day on Friday.
Sweet 16 games are always 7ET or later.
1st Round time will usually be announced tomorrow or Tuesday.

Axe said it on his bracket breakdown show
And its on his twitter. Other than that, Waters probably has (or will have) something up
Didn't say anything about that...
Just said he is likely not to go this weekend, and the rest of the season is conjecture. The only thing it sounded like Boeheim spoke to was his likely unavailability for the 1st and 2nd round
Yeah, I’m concerned about the Gonzaga/FSU matchup, granted we avoid a 89 Georgetown or 2007 UConn, in which I will be really really concerned if we struggle against Vermont. That being said, I like our sweet 16 possibilities if we get past the 2nd round fine, because I think we can do a very fine job against Butler or Vanderbilt.
Oh, and of course I’ll be missing the 2nd round game heading back up to SU unless my bus somehow has wifi (which for the record, I’ve been on 14 bus trips (7 round-trip) this academic year, and the only time I got a wifi bus was when I was going on a whopping 35 minute ride to Cortland. Without my laptop)
we won't find out the game time until 9:30 pm Friday?
(god, i love Airplane! humor…)
Syracuse players have a lot of length.
Onuaku
Rochester sportscaster: "He was at the press conference to discuss Syracuse’s seeding without a limp or any noticeable signs of the injury. Boeheim did not completely rule Onuaku out of either game this weekend. "
I hope they do this
If Riley cannot handle Vermont, I can’t see why he would have a scholarship
GO CUSE, BLUE, AND EAGLES!
Eff everyone else it's us against the world
They will not force us
They will stop degrading us
They will not control us
AND WE WILL BE VICTORIOUS
Fuck you gary parrish with your backhanded compliments
GO CUSE, BLUE, AND EAGLES!
YES
Everybody blast some Muse before the Vermont game. We’ll be fine.
Alright Brain, you don't like me and I don't like you. But lets just do this and I can get back to killing you with beer.
Just saw them at the Wacovia center
right after we beat ’Nova and got a bunch of dirty looks wearing my ’Cuse gear.
Well
if we needed something to motivate our guys…. here we go. People are going to be shit talking our program all week
Whats up with the east?
Nova can sleep walk to the elite 8! Duke vs UofL in the second round? The spokane and new orleans teams… GAG
Who in the west
should we be most afraid of (besides K State) Someone who can full court press… toss the ball inside, shoot it from outside and has a no name white guy due for a breakout game.
Anyone know who fits that description?
My final 4
Ohio State over Syracuse
WVU over Baylor
Ohio St. Champs
As for what I picked of note:
Syracuse over Vermont, Gonzaga, UTEP, BYU.
I also picked every 12 seed over the 5’s.
Siena to the elite 8.
Richmond(our other pals) over Nova.
Expect Ohio to give GTown trouble.
Nice jinx
I picked Syracuse to go to the final four the year they lost to Richmond.
Never again.
I’d rather lose my bracket than jinx Syracuse.
I rarely pick my own team to win.
Only when I feel there’s no doubt in my mind do I pick my own team.
You got to be fucking kidding me...rant incoming...
Yeah, ha ha, we get Vermont 1st round. I demand blood for the Wochester Massacre! But, lo, what is this….Pitt in our region too…….okay, joke’s over, stop it now. Wait, so is K-St., the only legitmate 2 seed. Not cool…….wait, AO is going to be out for the first weekend, the injury was actually worse then reported…
SON-OF-A-MUTHER-FUCKIN-COCK-SUCKING-DIRT-RAG-WEARING-BICYCLE-SEAT-SNIFFING-FFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FUCK. FUCK. FUCK. FUCK. Might as well had Louisville as our 8 seed to really put ulcer inducing acid in my veins!
Go Orange(men)!
9:30 tip time?
Just got an e-mail from an alumni organization that the game is at 9:30.
Yeah...
9:30 p.m. is a great time. Boeheim will have the fellas prepared.
by That Guy Mel on Mar 15, 2010 12:00 AM EDT up reply actions
Well, at least that is some good news...
Would of had a coronary if it was an afternoon game.
Go Orange(men)!
Anybody feel Jay Bilas is looking at a summer house in the Finger Lakes or something? Besides the usual Kansas stuff like everyone else on ESPN, he’s going on and on about Syracuse being a final four pick and… Cornell as an elite 8 pick, beating Kentucky in the process. Man must love CNY or something.
FWIW
The more I listen to Bilas, the more I agree with the guy and see his thinking. Bilas and Bob Knight have been the smartest commentators I’ve listened to this year.
Hubert Davis, Digger Phelps, and Doug Gottlieb remain morons.
I agree with Bilas being one of the smart guys on ESPN
But I just don’t see Cornell making that deep of a run. Other than that, though, I think he’s got a good bracket and didn’t fall into the UK trap like everyone else.
i'm kinda happy about the seeding..
even texas a&m as a 5seed in the southern region would have been a disaster… this way we get…
1. local opening round games (I’M ROAD TRIPPING!!)
2. a chance for vengeance
3. no clear traps after the opening week
let’s go orange!!

I seem to remember....
Seeing me post something about a Syracuse/Vermont 1st Round matchup.
Bad news, folks.
There are Chipotles in Salt Lake City.
But none easily accessible in Buffalo, so at least the team is good for the first weekend.
You might want to have someone come in and check on you every 10 minutes
make sure your liver is still functioning.
Finally
I’ve been waiting to get some payback against those hippies from up north since the 2005 game caused me to go on a rampage of destruction throughout my fraternity house. Friday at 9:30 is perfect. This week can’t go fast enough.
