This weekend, we head to Syracuse where we all have a history. Digger once won a game at Syracuse when his assistants diagrammed a last-second play while the Silver Fox had left the huddle to book restaurant reservations. And I was the first player who Jim Boeheim ever recruited from California. I actually took an official visit to Syracuse and almost went there to play for the Orange.
When Boeheim discovered that he could get a kid like me from Los Angeles, he said he started going out there to recruit the "good players." And after I got out of college, I played professional basketball in Italy with former Orange point guard Leo Rautins. Leo was a great player, and when he and I were teammates, Andy Rautins was just a baby, and I used to change his diapers.
Now, I change Digger's diapers. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
And, I remain undefeated at Scattergories.
While boisterous and replete with high SAT scores, the UW faithful were not brave enough to match wits with the Bilastrator.
