So I'm pretty surprised I haven't seen a thread like this yet here (did I miss it?)---maybe since no one else said it, it weakens my point---but I guess I feel strong enough about my theory to post it myself. Now that I have prefaced this, here we go:
So, you guys know the New Orleans Saints are going to the Superbowl and our very own Doug Marrone is just one year (and a few extra games) removed from life as their offensive coordinator. I am not at all crazy naive and trying to say this Superbowl appearance is directly related to Marrone, but I do want to feel like he laid a nice foundation in New Orleans and continue to feel excited about the potential for SU football--- especially on signing day!
If the Saints were playing any other team on the planet, I'd be pulling for them come Sunday, but since the Colts have such a history of drafting or picking up SU players, I've just been a Colts fan way to long. But I do see a correlation here to Coach Marrone and feel like we should note that, celebrate it, and keep praying Cuse gets back to being "contenders" as well.
